Hi Everyone,

I moved here 3 years ago, and to date still cannot find a good OBGYN. I have found and awesome PCP and dentist thanks to everyone's recommendations from this site, and was hoping you could help me again.

I am 28 years old and am looking for a female doctor who I can talk to and who can deliver my children in the next few years. I'm not sure what hospital i want to deliver at yet as it is still a few years away, but am thinking CMC. My old doctor from NY was just such a nice woman that I felt so comfortable with and who was so nice and pleasant and that's really just what i'm looking for. Right now getting my annual isn't important, but in a few years when babies are on the way it will be really important that I feel comfortable and safe with my doctor.

Also if the doctor gives out samples of Birth Control that would be great, b/c we ladies know just how expensive those are. My NY doc used to give them to me all of the time. My NC doctor's staff yelled at me last time I asked, and though i liked the doctor i did not like the way the staff treated me.

Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

I go to Dr. Eskridge at the Arboretum. ve her. They used to give out a few months of free pills but I think that practice has fallen out of favor because it was being abused. I don't think any doctors are allowed to hand out any free prescription samples in Charlotte anymore. However, I take Loestrin 24 and she gave me a card so I'd never have to pay more than $24 a month (I would be paying $50 without it!). It's from the manufacturer.

Do you live in Charlotte? That might make a difference for getting recommendations.

Dr. Palermo at Rankin Women's. She's the best in town.

Dr. Naumann at Randolph OB/Gyn. I'm almost 8 months pregnant and she's been great. 4 other friends go to her also.

I am being seen now by Dr Morris at Providence OB/GYN, who came highly recommended by my RE when he referred me. But Providence OB/GYN has priveleges at Presby, not CMC, if that makes a difference -- but Presby has a very, very nice maternity ward (better than CMC, according to many ladies I've asked). I am very happy with Providence and with Dr Morris.

I used to go to Midtown OB/GYN and Dr. Stacey Wood, but I had a bad experience, and wouldn't recommend going there.

I saw her for my GYN before we left Charlotte. She was awesome! I had both kids here in Catawba County so can't comment on the OB part.

However with any groups if they have a male OB and you go into labor you get whoever is on call.

I don't think it is common to get more than 1 or 2 months of starter pills these days with any meds. IF you are lucky. If you can handle the basic pills you can get generic $10 ones. My midwife did just hook me up with several packs of Seasonique!!! SCORE!
