I'm getting it done in January by Dr. Mozayeni. Charlotte Vision Correction - Get Laser Vision Correction | Providence Eye & Laser Specialists
He's supposed to be one of the best. I'm getting Lasik in one eye and PRK in the other because of specific issues in one eye. The initial consult lasted almost 2 1/2 hours and was VERY thorough. I feel comfortable with him, his knowledge, and his technology (uber-cool gadgets in his office, lol).
There area few other great laser eye docs here, so make sure to see everyone and find out who you are most comfy with.
The cost of mine will be ~ $4000.

Another vote for Dr. Mozayeni. He did not do my Lasik (in 2004) since I was living in another state. But I moved here shortly after the procedure and had some issues with dry eye. His entire staff was the best! They were also the only practice that would even see me. One told me to go back to Chicago and one told me to go to the emergency room.

Had mine almost a year ago and it was the best decision ever. I went to TLC and couldn't be happier with every part of the process and procedure. It cost me around $3500, which covered my checkups for a year with my normal eye dr.

Hello,
I know its a old bump but I wanted to see if anyone had any updates (specifically a recommendation) on getting LASIK and good/bad doctors locally as I'm starting to look around at getting it done.
Thanks!

I am glad you bumped this thread as I am considering Lasik as well. I know the price has come down over the years, and the technology seems to have gotten better. I only know one person who has had it and it was with Dr Christenbury. He was extremely pleased with his 20/15 results.

Yeah.... I looked at the online reviews for Dr. Christenbury from google and they're not very good. I've gone to Dr. Mozayeni and Dr. Branner. Both are professional, the procedure cost is about the same ($1995 vs $1795 per eye). I think that the technology is getting better but the cost is staying ~2k/eye secondary to the improvements.

Any others?

Did they resolve the dry eye?
I started looking into Lasik a couple months ago and got scared off by some horror stories. Permanent dry eye and halos would be bad, but there are even worse outcomes.

I'd love to get rid of glasses, though.
