I have a hard time finding any type of crime mapping for Pineville. I know Sperlings best places ranks Pineville a 10 for violent and property with US average a 4 with 1 being the lowest crime. I hear good things about Pineville, and have been through there; however, I can't seem to find too much info and it appears it is a high crime area? Please help. Thanks!

I live right in Pineville right over the rail road tracks and I feel safe living here. There is crime in every part of Charlotte. I always keep my doors locked even when I am home. Pineville is a nice little town. FYI I got taxed for my car this year from Mecklenburg County and the town of Pineville. 200 for Mecklenburg and 78 for Pineville.

Keep in mind that crime statistics are going to be skewed because of Carolina Place Mall and the other shopping centers.

The stats for thefts, robberies, assaults, etc. are probably significantly higher in the shopping areas than they are in residential areas of the town.

In addition to what is stated above, do realize that Pineville is a fairly small town.

I wouldn't say it is. You have you occasional jack-asses at the mall, but thats about it.

Yes, and most of it melds into Charlotte. As far as crime there, it all depends on where you park your pickup truck
