Regarding the attendance/blackout - IMO, the less people who get exposed to that quality of football, the better.
Has Charlotte ever really been a "football" city? Cripes, even when Steelers fans are booing the quarterback or making homosexual slurs towards him, the place is still packed to capacity.

furthermore, i won't support any team that supports Jimmy Clausen. I like to see Jimmy Clausen get sacked, and preferably lose, and this supercedes all team alliances.
