The only techers CMS is getting now are the ones right out of college, not that thats bad or anything, but alot of their experinced techers are leaving and teachers with experince aren't coming to CMS. And CMS has always been short on techers with or without the 4 new schools. The other two are a school within a school on the Garinger High Schools campus. It's a test by CMS to see if it can help with the overcrowding at highschools by making one schools 3 schools.

Ok, quick question: What's the average starting pay for a special-ed teacher's aide in NC? I'm looking in the western half of the state... def. not the Charlotte area, maybe Winston-Salem or Asheville or Hickory/Morganton area. Any ideas?
Thanks!

If you go to individual school websites, most of them have salary information. I know the governor just gave all teachers a raise.

As a teacher (with a masters degree) looking into moving into the area why are the schools considered to be so bad? What other areas would be good places to look for a teaching position?
