Mine is 10, maybe 15 minutes if traffic is heavy, I love where I live near inner city.

I drive from Gastonia (ranlo area exit 21 on 85) and drive to old Coliseum Area near airport. If I leave around 7 - i arrive around 7:25-7:30. If i leave around 7:30 it takes an extra 15-20 minutes it seems.

Traffic always seems heavier on way home. Always backed up on exit from 485 to 85S...goes from 3 lanes to 1 lane.

And Fridays after work are a nightmare....always twice as many cars....LOL

I live right by the University and work in Midtown, I don't work a traditional office job, so when I work off peak I can get there in 20 mins by car, or 40 by bus, during rush hour the bus is actually about the same as driving it seems, 45 mins or so, I typically drive though as it's easier late night after some shifts. Can't wait until the light rail is done, I will be the first one on that thing. Even if it takes longer than my current commute during off peak, the stress relief is well worth it.

She must live really far out. I live in Monroe/Indian Trail and it's only about 40 minute to uptown unless the traffic is really bad. That is not counting morning and evening work traffic.

I last worked in Rock Hill and drove from Bessemer City - around 40-45 minutes if I hustled. When I lived around Park Rd, the drive was cut to 20-25 minutes. I retired young, but if I was still in the grind, I think 40-45 minutes would be my limit unless it was only 2-3 days/week. It sucks getting off work and facing a long drive home. I don't see how the folks on 77 do it. I don't think any amount of money would put me there every day around 8am/5pm.

I'm starting a new job in Davidson, NC and I live in Indian Trail, NC. Round trip is 80 miles. Anyone else here make this commute or similar? I normally leave home a little before 7am and the outer loop on 485 is normally clear of much traffic so going up that way shouldn't be a problem, but I worry about I77 when I merge there.
