Default Relocating to Concord

We're moving from Buffalo to Concord, NC and just bought a house in Moss Creek. I have several concerns and questions and any info you could provide would be helpful! How are the schools there? We will need several doctors:
-Family Dr. and a pediatrician (we need doctors that will provide referrals without too many problems as our insurance calls for referrals)
-OB/GYN
-Dentist and pediatric Dentist
-Also our child currently sees several specialists- any ideas for specialists near Concord/ Charlotte area for the following:
-Pediatric ENT (Otolaryngologist); -Pediatric GI; -Pediatric Allergist;
-Pediatric Audiologist (does anyone know of the services offered in NC for hearing impaired?)

Also wondering about any health food/ supplements stores in or near Concord, warehouse-type stores (here we have BJ's and Sam's Club).

Thank you very much for any info-- we really appreciate it!!!

I can't help you with the doctor questions but I know there is a BJ's off Concord Mills Blvd. I'm not sure about Sam's Clubs....I do know there is one in Kannapolis and several in Charlotte.

Hi Clemintime -

Welcome to Concord. I will trade you advice for Shalens Hotdogs. I am from buffalo also.

I find that most of the helath care in Concord is driven out of the hospital groups, it was North East Medical until this past weekend. Now, it's Carolina's Medical. Hopefully, you won't need hospital care, but if you do the facility and care is excellent. I cannot speak high enough. There are quite a few stores being built out off I85 exit 60 - Kohl's, Walmart, Sams Club, Steak and Shake if your hungry, and many more. BJ's is down towards Concord Mills I85 exit 49. Please send me a private message and I'll be glad to help you. I know many coworkers who live in concord and can find what you need. I know how important finding doctors can be. THe specialists I use out there are probably not someone you'd need so I won't put it on here. However, there are many great, busy practices out there.

Hi Clementine!
Welcome to the area...There are many wonderful doctors around. I have a few recommendations:
Pediatric ENT: Dr. Hugh Lovejoy at Charlotte Eye Ear Nose and throat. He's been fantastic through out my son's episodes with tubes/adenoid removal, etc. He's great with kids, very patient, kind and welcomes questions.

OBGYN: I use Greater Carolinas Women's Center in the University area. Dr. Newman is my favorite. There is one doctor there that I can't stand. PM me and I'll give you his/her name. I have been with them since I came to Charlotte in 1993 and they have since seen me through two pregnancies, one high-risk. They are great.

Family doctor: All the doctors at Harrisburg Family Physicians are great, although you might be able to find a great doctor closer to your home in Moss Creek.

Pediatricians: We use University Pediatrics and I truly love the doctors, but truth be told, I'm seriously considering switching practices simply b/c its SO busy there. Its nothing for me to wait 30 min.-1 hour to see the doctor for a regularly scheduled appointment. ARGH!

I'm sure others will chime in with other doctors. Please feel free to PM if you have any other questions!

Have a great weekend!
Nicole
