i live just south of Charlotte in Fort Mill SC ( Indian Land )in the Lancaster County part. It's convenient ( just south of Ballantyne), the schools are good and taxes are approx 1/2 the price of Mecklenburg County. My property taxes are less than $1000 dollars a year. Water is alittle bit on the expensive side but, it's a great area which is expanding greatly. Lancaster County lowered property taxes because they are trying to develop the area.

Mecklenburg is more expensive tax wise than Union County, as we live in union county and are from NJ...we just moved here 1 month ago...Union County tax is like .64 on per 100...then you have the City's taxes depends on where u live, Waxhaw has their own, Weddington and Marvin and it gets very confusing because your mailing address might be different from where u actually live...anyway good luck with whatever u decide, just know this Homes arent selling very quickly in NJ and prices here depeding on the area have gone up, so no one knows what will be next year...

Thanks you for the info..yes we are considering that now...putting the house up for sale in the fall knowing that it will take several months to sell...we dont want to wait too long to move down to NC because we are very aware that the prices will be increasing
