Talking Slab vs. Crawl Space vs. Basement

What is everyone's experience with a Slab...crawl space..and basement....We have noticed that most of the homes in the Union County/Charlotte area are Slab but we prefer not to move to a slab home..because of access issues and leakage etc...

Can you be more specific...I am a developer/builder and have built in many areas(S FL, GA, SC, NC, etc) and many people think there are advantages/disadvantages to each system when, in fact, there are none to speak of...mostly it will revolve around the property slope, cost issues and preference(mostly)...I'm not sure what you mean by 'leakage' but there are multi-million dollars homes in many states built on slabs...most people are used to what they had, or grew up with...in the north the slope usually dictates a crawl to minimize having to prep the site and add costs, in the south there is an abundance of slabs, mostly on flatter lots, which reduces overall cost...if you have a specific Q, please feel free to drop me a msg...but there are NO PERFORMANCE ISSUES with either system if they are constructed properly...the only difference for access will be that your HVAC will be installed in the attic area, and registters will be ceiling mounted, as opposed to floor mounted.
