Cool Anyone Buying/ building at Falcon Ridge by M/I Homes?

We went to take a look at Falcon Ridge today..part of our ongoing research before we decide to buy a home in a couple of months time. I was wondering if anyone on the forum has bought or built there? DH and I really liked the finish of the homes we saw and liked the area as well. M/I's home plans seemed more suitable than us since they let us customize more than the plans we saw at Eastwood. just thought I'd see if any of you had any thoughts on this.

As always, the information I get on this forum is invaluable!

Thanks!

M/I is a good builder. I know one of the superindents who work for M/I. I think you would be happy with them. Let me know if you have any questions.

Kevin is no longer @ Falcon Ridge he is now @ callonwood I think.

M/I allowed him to swap so he no longer has 2 1/2-3 hours of commuting everday.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. FlyingScotsman, just replied to your pm.
Here're some questions:
1. How're the schools in the area? we have a one year old so am more interested in the preschools, elementary and middle for now. Is there a good montessori nearby?
2. Did anyone take up the M/I mortgage offer? What was your experience with it? What sort of APR did u get? Is there anything that we should watch out for?
3. Was your house completed by the scheduled date?
4. How long is the commute to and from uptown to falcon ridge in rush hour?

Thank you!

FalconRidge is zoned for the new Winget Elementary, many people have say it is a good school.

Flyingscotsman- Makes sense considering the cost of gas and how congested some commutes really are.

Hi,
Anigirli, I didn't see that you had replied to my post until after I posted on another thread you had going. So I'll go ahead and post those same questions up here again.. When will Winget elementary begin? also, what's the rep on the middle and high school. Do you know if there are any Montessori's near FR? there are quite a few now in South Charlotte so was wondering if I would have to come all the way here for DD to go. I did see some preschools around - any idea which of those are good?

Thanks so much! As always, lots of questions but I appreciate all your information.

Winget Park is an elementary in Charlotte-Meck.

Winget Park Elementary School : Winget Park Elementary

Lake Wylie Elementary : Welcome!

Don't know about the Montessori schools, sorry.

OK, now I'm a little confused. Muffinman, I don't think that we're talking about the same Falcon Ridge. The one I'm talking about is in the Steel Creek Area - with zip code 28278, close to Lake wylie. Wingate is in Matthews going by their website. Is Wingate another school in this area? Please clarify. Thank you for your posting but I was looking for information on Winget Elementary or Lake Wylie Elementary which, as far as I know, are the schools zoned for the area where Falcon Ridge is located.Any one else know anything about these schools and the montessoris in the area?

PS: Sorry, but I have to throw in one more question, how do these schools compare with the nearby Fort Mill schools?

Thanks a bunch!
