Please can someone tell me something about Mooresville and how fare is the town located from Charlotte? Currently living in NJ will move to NC next June/july. Found a really great house in Mooresville but what is close to Mooresville and what had the town to offer? Thank you

Subtract the difference between the Interstate Exit numbers. For example, Mooresville is north of Charlotte off of I-77 exits 32, 33, and 36. The last I-77 exit in Charlotte is exit 18, and Charlotte runs all the way down to exit 1 near the South Carolina border. So, it's roughly 36 miles, give or take.

Mooresville is a good 20-30+ to Charlotte, of course depending on where in Mooresville and where in Charlotte...and the inevitable what time of day. I-77 gets hit with some thick traffic during rush hours (moreso in the evening, in my opinion). It's not that bad of a drive, relatively speaking. If you've found a good deal on a house, it may even be a better drive!

What does Mooresville offer over Charlotte? I'm not overly familiar with Mooresville...but I do know that it is generally more rural than Charlotte. Parts of it are less crowded while other parts have grown so fast that it can't keep up with itself (specifically, the area right around exit 36, NC150)...meaning the traffic is always thick, no matter the day or time.

If you like a much more rural/light suburban feel, Mooresville will be fine for you. If you need to be more in the thick of it, "heavier" suburban, Mooresville may be too far out. It's certainly not a farm town, but it's not the typical Charlotte suburb.

Mooresville is not that far of a commute to Charlotte IMO, even at the far end at Exit 36. Of course I commute from further up north and I do about 60 miles each way to Charlotte. Mooresville is kind of my halfway point, if that's any indication.

I hear Brawley School Rd is horrible for traffic but my wife and I drive there for the nice shoppings.
There are lots of transplants there so you'd probably feel right at home

My one complaint is that Mooresville doesn't have any book stores

Overall Moorseville is more rural than Charlotte but it does have a hospital, big box stores and national chains, (Applebee's, Panera Bread, Starbucks etc.).

It's actually not that far. From the northernmost parts of Charlotte, near the Huntersville border, to the southern part of Mooresville,(say, the Lake Norman Regional Medical Center) is only about 15 miles.
