I think amploud was making a joke - some people use "gazillion" or even "bazillion" to mean "way more than a million".

There was a store way down Monroe Road, called Coisas Do Brazil, a friend took me there a long time ago. I have no idea if they're still there, but it was a little gathering spot for Brazilians at that time.

First off, the same way you are proud of your heritage/culture, she should feel the same way about hers! Just because she no longer lives in Brazil doesn't mean she has to abandon her customs or culture just because she now lives in America! OP should be proud of her Brazilian heritage and we don't need your bigoted, judgmental attitude towards her! As far as Brazilians in Charlotte, I'm sure there are plenty of Brazilians in Charlotte, but they are mostly scattered throughout Charlotte and not just in one specific area! Most of Charlotte is more "integrated" than segmented by different cultures, if that makes sense!

I train in Brasilian Jiu-Jitsu here in Charlotte and I train with a lot of people from Brasil that live in the area. I have also met many instructors and students in the area that are Brazilian. So, to answer your question...there is a Brasilian population in Charlotte. You can always meet people through them. There is also the restaurant Chima uptown...I know quite a few people from Brasil that work there

You might want to go to chima (brazilian restaurant) in Charlotte. Most of the staff that I have met there are from Brazil. They might be able to point you in the right direction.

At the junction of Monroe road and Highway 51 (Pineville Matthews) there is quite a number of Brazilian stores, hairdresser, newsagent etc. Also the other Brazilian restaurant is on E Independence and it is called Brazas.
