hi, I there some unknowns so I am going to try to cover them.

Did you purchase the car in NC? If so it should already have an inspection sticker on the left bottom corner of the wind sheild. And you go the month that is shown on the sticker.

If purchased out of NC and or does not have a inspection sticker you will need to get it inspected ASAP so she does not get pulled over or ticketed at a check point.

I just registered from out of state. I have 10 days from the day I get my tags to get the car inspected, yet you have to receive your registration in the mail to take to the inspection station. I haven't received my registration, and I have 3 days left to get the thing inspected. I called my nearest insection station, and the guy on the phone said he has had a lot of people not receive their registration in a timely manner. Hope you don't run into the same problem.

I recommend Mr. Inspection in Pineville off of Hwy 51 and South Blvd (actually it's Polk st). They charge $30, the going rate and that's al they do. They are honest. I took my cars there the last several years (though I am in SC now, no inspection) and they have been very good and usually quick. I had a tail light out last year and needed new wiper blades. They replaced everything and charged me a total of $34. The old law was only that the wipers had to work. As of last years, they are required to check the blades.

Default Mr. Inspection of Pineville

You have ten days after you register the vehicle. If you bought it in NC, and bought it at a car lot, you can use the papers that were given to you by the seller to get an inspection. But there really isn't any rush. Just keep the paper work with you. If you get pulled over, just say you're waiting for your registration to come in the mail.
If you bought it privately, you need to bring in a valid registration.
If you bought it in another state and at a car lot, you have to wait for the registration to come in the mail. (keep the paperwork with you).
As far as stickers go...if the vehicle was just bought, you get a new sticker. If the vehicle is late for it's inspection...you get the month you were supposed to have it inspected.

Oh wow, NC have inspections? Can you please tell how to find a list of things I need to do before I arrive in Charlotte?

Like do I need to retake the driver's licence test in order to get a NC DL. Do I have to pay taxes on my car before getting it registered, etc?

Wait, you are supposed to receive a registration in the mail before you can even go have your car inspected?? Someone please clarify if thats what I'm supposed to believe or not.
I don't see how they can expect you to have it done within 10 days if you are waiting for something that will take the first 4-5 days of that 10 day period just to receive it.

Also, to renew your tag what all do you need?
