I was going to say the same thing. Moderator cut: removed is a local board. Anything goes. 15 seconds til this post is deleted.
I agree, the mods need no to be so uptight about an occasional off-topic joke so long as it is not directed at or offending anyone.

I'm not sure if anything is there or what is going to happen. I was shocked.
Anyone else hear any news about it?

The owners of the building jacked up the lease price of the CZ uptown due to the property values uptown, so the owners exited the location. Last I heard, they were still trying to find a permanent city location.

Ooh, Ooh! They should look at working with the downtown Monroe folks. They are working on renovating the old Center Theatre for that sort of thing. I just saw a notice for a Community Meeting:
City of Monroe
Downtown Master Plan
Learn about the Downtown Master Plan. What it is. How long it takes. What the city can expect.
Be part of the process
Provide input into setting the goals
Help identify downtown's opportunities
Meet the consultants
July 18
Drop In - 6 PM-8 PM
Old Belk Bldg - 201 N. Main Street
How cool would that be if they could pump some excitement into downtown Monroe?

The CZ, i believe, is slated to be one of the tenants at the new EpiCentre when it opens. Hooray for that.

Now THAT will be cool! I'm really looking forward to the EpiCentre...what a great concept that makes yet another reason why downtown is so attractive!
