While that may be true.......it is unusual for this area to get snow this time of year.

you'll never even know it snowed..few flakes if we are lucky (unlucky)
It seems like we did have snow in December last year. Though winter this year got off to a delayed start (highs in the 70s and 80s through late November), December has come in with a vengeance and if this could be a sign we have another brutal winter ahead.
