Does anyone have suggestions for organizations where a families in need can go to get assistance at this time of year? I know there are plenty out there, but really don't have a clue as to how to go about getting in touch with any. We are trying to help a young father and his three small children with such things as daycare, assistance with paying his utility bills, and of course, getting a few toys for his kids.

Contact the Salvation Army. They sponsor the Angel Tree Project and may be able to help with other needs too. There's also the Christmas Bureau, which I believe is sponsored by the Dept of Social Services. Call them for more info.

Best of luck

You might want to get in touch with John Hancock on WBT AM radio....he knows people in the know about such things as the toys. He helps out the Kids First program. Right now....Friday night....he is collecting toys for the program at the Sharon Presb. Church on Sharon Rd.....they will have people there I believe from one to when ever they finish on Saturday to turn the gym into Santas land or whatever they are calling it. On Sunday they are going to have a party for a load of children. You may want to go by there on Saturday....and talk to John....or the two ladies that have been working on this project for years..every year....Sharon or Wendy.
Good Luck.....I hope that they can help you!!
