Everytime I see this type of snow falling I remember standing & watching the giant flakes fall with my grandmother. She passed the comment that her grandmother (born in the 1830s) would say "Mother Goose is shaking her feather tick" when the big flakes would fall.
Anyone else know of any old sayings connected to snow?
