Hello, not to possibly offend anyone but Harris Blvd is a long road from Mt Holly Huntersville down to Independence Blvd. Yes there are some areas off of Harris that have crime and issues such as any big city. But, it is tough to generalize some parts of Harris Blvd compared to others such as down around Harris and Albemarle or Harris and Idlewild is much different than Harris around say the Northlake area or around where Davis Lake is. You cannot compare it as all one big area. There are nice places in the University area and there would of course be more crime, drugs, etc around a college as it usually is that way. But these sorts of things exist and happen in all parts of the city. There may be some more industrial and companies/offices off of WT Harris in comparison to some of the fancy buildings in Ballantyne. I just think to be fair you cannot lump all of WT Harris into one big generalization.

Cars were broken into all the time, students threw up on stairways, it was always covered with trash, it was awful. Plus... the university is largely undergrads (if you're like me, you're over hanging out at frat parties with 19 year olds) and then older commuter students. There are actually a lot of adults at UNCC because it is largely a commuter school. There is a lot of crime in this part of town.

DO NOT LIVE THERE. It sucks .Seriously.

I have lived in Dilworth and Myers Park, and both have been AMAZING. Yes, it's more expensive, but it's worth it to me to be safe. And to be near awesome shopping and restaurants and lots of young people. So take the advice of pretty much everyone here and avoid Harris Blvd like the plague.
