I saw one other post about this and checked out some of the venues, but nothing was quite right! I am trying to plan a wedding, and I am just freaking out because everything in Charlotte is so expensive!!!

I plan to get married this summer, so the weather is definitely an issue... I want to do it in the evening, but I still don't want to sweat out my guests. I think I will need an indoor reception area.

Also, I think we will probably have about 150 guests, so I need it to be big enough to accommodate that many people.

It seems like everywhere I look, it's going to be tens of thousands of dollars for the venue, food, and booze. (We're thinking beer and wine only). Our budget is probably about $10,000-$12,000, and that's to include EVERYTHING!

I do want to get married in Charlotte, or not too far away. ANY suggestions and help would be appreciated!!!

Heck, when you find out PM me! I've been looking for months. I'm not in a rush, no date set, but found things were very expensive, or poor reviews.

Have you thought about vacation rental homes on one of the lakes?
Obviously you would need to sort out a caterer and your own alcohol, but think it would still be cheaper.

EDIT- sorry-this one says no weddings of more than 20 people-maybe insurance is a problem.

Try one of the public parks.

Public parks get very expensive. I wanted to do it on my property, but realized it would cost more for chair, table, waiters, bartender, etc etc rentals than an inclusive venue. Even without the fancy tent it was about $5000 more outdoors. My friend just bought a book for me called "101 ways to save more on your wedding". Once i read it, i'll let you knoe the tricks.

This place may suit your needs. I have been helping a friend look for places and I think it is pretty. The prices aren't too bad, either.

When looking, remember prices are always negotiable - sometimes all you have to do is ask for a better price. I took my future mother-in-law with me, and she saved me a ton of money because she is a shrewd negotiator and I was a naive young woman.

Victorian Villa Bed & Breakfast Inn

There is also a vineyard down on Albemarle Rd near Midland - I think it is called Rocky River vineyards, they do weddings - it's a pretty venue for an outdoor wedding - can't remember what inside space they have if any.

Victorian Bed and Breakfast looked nice, I found mixed reviews though. I did like Dennis Vineyards website very much and I myself will be looking into it. Heres the link : Dennis Vineyards

Its an hour from me in Waxhaw, so less from Charlotte.

Not sure if the other post had this or not. But what about The Magnolia Room at Laurel Creek? :: The Magnolia Room at Laurel Creek :: My friend is getting married there in September and has had no complaints thus far working with them. I am assuming that its not too expensive because they are not trying to spend a ton either on their wedding. Just a thought

The Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden in Belmont hosts weddings frequently; they have indoor space if needed. I used to bartend for some of their events there - such a beautiful space!

I was going to suggest this as well. If we lived here when we got married, this certainly would have been the place! I'm a fan on facebook and the other day they posted this beautiful video of a couple who were married there this summer: Ericka + Frank on Vimeo
