BJ's was the only gas station on that side of town you can go to without being pan-handled to death, and I really hate to see it go. My neighborhood is declining quickly, and this is just going to speed it up. I've tried selling my home, but nobody wants to buy it, so I guess I'm stuck on this ghetto side of town for life.

I talked with a guy at BJ's in Pineville & he said there wasn't much stock left in that store.

Just what Independence needs. Another abandoned big box that will probably never be occupied again. Anybody have any ideas on what it would take to turn that area around?

I think the Independence freeway that extends from uptown to Sharon Amity should extend all the way to 485.

I'd second that idea. We could have our own autobahn.

I joined and quickly got a refund from Costco, because hey did not take Visa or Mastercard. That was a deal breaker for me. I went and joined BJ's in Pineville because they accept all forms of payment.

Easy Charlotte, It's not just us. They are closing three in Atlanta and one in Florida as well.

I think for the most part people like to buy in bulk (yes you can save a lot for the most part) but when now a days people are living check to check (a lot of unempoyment checks) I think some see that dollar store (ie.) pack of napkins as the best bargin they can afford at the time. Plus you don't need a membership fee @ the dollar store which is another expense to add. Just my 02.cent

When I was there last week I spoke to an employee and she said sales are down in BJ's and they needed to close a few. I felt bad for her she was telling me she was laid off from her previous job due to them going out of business (here in Charlotte) a year ago. And now, one year later after working @ BJ'S she was being laid off again.

I heard they were putting a Wegman's there. BAWHAHAAAa
Or an H&M
