Looking for some insight about Kannapolis, NC. Currently looking at a house in Dakota Woods Subdivision.

The subdivision is locate about 3 miles away from the NC Research Campus. My question do you guys think it is a good area to buy a home? Does anyone have any suggestions or reviews on this subdivision. Also what is the rating for Royal Oak Elementary School.
