I may get slapped for giving this answer but when I miss the trash pickup and have particularly smelly trash I take it to the park and throw it in the dumpster there.
Our trash pick was today, and they came by around 10am. I was pretty surprised, as I expected them to do the areas of the city that they missed first. I'm happy that they picked up, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to me, either. Frank, if I lived near you I'd be happy to let you use my empty can.

That's what we did, and drove back to the church, had a thanksgiving
dinner that couldn't be beat, went to sleep and didn't get up until the
next morning, when we got a phone call from officer Obie. He said, "Kid,
we found your name on an envelope at the bottom of a half a ton of
garbage, and just wanted to know if you had any information about it." And
I said, "Yes, sir, Officer Obie, I cannot tell a lie, I put that envelope
under that garbage."
I talked to someone from Meck. County Solid Waste Services, he told me any "full service" station will accept regular trash. There are 4 of them around and they are listed here:

Foxhole is best for you (you're near me). Go out Johnston, and it's right before the state line/Walmart.
