Default Do I need flood insurance in Huntersville?

I will be moving to Huntersville Sept 1st and all the information everyone has posted has been so helpful. I am moving from Sarasota Florida where flood insurance is a necessity. Do I need to add it onto my ins. policy? I am not in a flood zone.

This thread may be of help to you: http://www.city-data.com/forum/charl...lood-zone.html

You shouldn't need it if your property is not near a body of water--creeks, lake, etc.
