Is there a preferred spot on Lake Norman (Cornelius, Davidson or Huntersville) for recreational kayakers to put in???
Liking the idea of paddling from tell me where to the North Harbor Restaurant, listening to music, etc., but can't figure out a reasonable spot to take off from ('scuse me..."from which to take off"...)

I can only speak from personal experience. We was kicked ot so to speak as we was about to kayak off Blythe Landing. This was what was said to me.
"Since Lake Norman on the Mecklenburg County Side no swimming or wading and you have to in order to get in the water of course this isnt a option.
You might try off Lake Norman State Park. Due to high personal water craft & boat traffic Lake Norman isnt a ideal spot to Kayak.

There is two acess points at Latta Plantation Preserve on Mountain Island Lake that meets our needs. There is also another location on West .
Alot less boat traffic & a lot of coves to go in to just chill. Since the water is shallower in the coves
it prevents boats from disturbing.

This map shows where it at off Access St
