We're still doing our research on where to buy our new home and there are some communities in SW charlotte, specifically in the steele creek area and some in Indian Land, SC that we are looking at. how do the schools in these two areas compare? Both are a 7 on greatschools' website on the elementary so I thought I'd ask and see if any one had some personal insights on these two school systems.
After talking to students, teachers, and researching, I would personally not send my kids to either of those school districts. If I had to choose between the two, Indianland would probably rank because I don't forsee the situation with Charlotte schools getting any better anytime soon.
If schools are a top priority, Fort Mill school district just over the border in SC is consistantly ranked one of the top school districts in the country. I am not saying that bright, well adjusted kids are not coming out of the other school districts but that why make an already difficult job (raising kids) more difficult!!
