Can anyone recommend a home inpsector and surveyor for a residential property in Waxhaw. What are the characteristics of a good inspector and surveyor? i.e. What questions should I ask them before choosing?

Thank you

I have been told it is a good idea if the inspector has a background in building. Then, they know what to look out for. You could ask a realtor if they have any recommendations on who they have used in the past.

My agent recommends HouseMaster, and I just signed the release last night for the scheduled inspection on Tuesday of next week. My agent has worked with them numerous times and they've been in business since 1979. My inspection will be including termite inspection at no extra charge.

As a builder. I've never per se used a home inspector, but I see 15-20 inspection reports a year. I was recently helping a seller perform repairs and the buyers inspector was.. Scott Hinsen at....

Our Staff - N-Visions Home Inspections, Inc.

I was very impressed at his thoroughness. I see some inspection reports where inspectors find abitrary items just to justify their cost, but they seem to miss glaring defects that I notice. This guy seemed to do a good job.

Did you ever get an inspection done? If so, who did you use? I am in need of one.
