I found a nice looking home in Thornhill with a basement today while running a search. I know the neighborhood is older but it seems to be maintained.

Do you like the area? Neighbors? Is the HOA a major PITA? How are the amenities? The website says they updated the pool area but didn't see any pictures. Do you or can you walk to Stonecrest? Is the noise bad from 485?

This house backs up to woods that ultimately adjoin 485. Looks like there might be creek in the woods as well. Nice cul de sac location.

Hi alise I have never lived there but I can tell you I wouldn't hesitate to live there. The location is good, and yes, you can walk right over to Stonecrest very easily - in the warmer weather you'll see people doing that all the time.

Thornhill is an older neighborhood, but that is a good thing on many levels. First of all, the home prices there were not inflated when it was built in the 90's like homes that were built from 2005-2007 were.

I don't know what the sold comps for this neighborhood are, but this home seems very overpriced to me considering it is being sold "as is".

With its location in the neighborhood you would likely hear the constant hum of traffic from I485, but I don't think it would be unbearable.

This home was taken over in foreclosure by the bank last July 2010. Foreclosures can be difficult to deal with, but if you have a great realtor you can sometimes get a great deal. If you aren't with someone already please dm me for a recommendation to the best realtor in that area

I have 2 friends who live in that neighborhood and have since it was built. They love it there.
