Catawba Ave, Lake Norman
What are your thoughts on investment potential on Catawba Avenue between Hwy 73 to I-77? The way I see it, land is scarce and it will max out in the next couple of years. We are seriously considering buying one of the new Ryan townhomes in Harborside Commons (across from Midtown Sundries) at pre construction prices. We will be practically maxing out the upgrades. The way I see it, we'll have instant equity by the time we move in, and could make a killing in 2 years when we would likely move out.
They built the same townhomes in Jetton Park and started at the same prices--mid 190s stripped. They just sold the last one at over 300k!! How's that for an investment?
Do you think this small strip of land by the water will be the fastest appreciating area North of Charlotte in the next couple of years?

I agree. If I could only go back just 2 or 3 years in time I'd be a billionare by now.
I think even the few 'not perfect' lots that you can get on lake norman for the low 200's are going to skyrocket in the next few years.

Congrats! Does the twnhm come with a deeded boat slip? Or, must you lease a slip on a monthly basis? Not that familiar with twnhm-lake living- what is the norm? A deeded slip would be nice!

No slip with the home, but there are slips in the area to rent, maybe own. I have yet to get a boat, so I'm not sure.

Can you help me out?
since you may be familar with area.
I am going to rent a boat and take people from my church for a boat ride but lol I got more wanting to go than the boat will fit so I figure I would rent a shelter at Ramsey Creek Park and just take people out thru out the day.
My question is are you familar with this park. If so do they charge admission on weekends like jetton park does? I notice they have boat slips is there a charge for that?
Where is it LOL
I know where jetton park is but I cannot think life of me if I ever seen Ramsey before If it off catawba do you know any building structures before I turn for instance K&W cafteria, Chicago dogs etc?
Thanks

Ramsey Creek Park
Ramsey Creek is a very nice park by the water. It actually sits right across the cove from Jetton Park. To access it from the road, it's off Catawba Ave. in between State Farm and that expensive nursery. There's also a bank on the corner of the road you turn on. If you're coming from exit 28, go passed Midtown on your left and you'll take your next right. If you pass State Farm on your left, you've gone too far.
Once you turn down the road, follow signs to make next right into park. I think there is a $3 or $6 fee to launch a boat, but you pay at the gate. We've never been charged just to go in. I think you have to have a boat? There are plenty of shelters and open areas to play in. Also volleyball court and many yardage of beach as well as walking trails.
We love the park for the 4 acre dog park.
Ya'll have fun....it supposed to be beautiful this weekend!!!

Oh, no worries, but I just realized, I wrote Midtown will be on your left, but it's on your right. Sorry for the mistake.
