There is a Trader Joe's that will be opening not far from Concord in N. Charlotte. It appears to almost be open.

There was a good article in the paper this past Sunday regarding these types of stores.
I will be working PT at the new Earth Fare near South Park mall.

Earth Fare is the closest you will get to Whole Foods here. Good thing is, Earth Fare is cheaper. While EF is not as large as WF, they are still pretty big for a natural foods stores. BTW, there are no 100% organic grocery stores. WF, EF, and all other similar stores are natural food stores, but organic fits in there.

I checked out Trader Joe's yesterday and wasn't all too impressed. The good things: some of their items were CHEAP. Organic bananas were 29 cets a pound. Tofu was 99 cents. The bad: They did not have ANY organic salad; just a small selection of conventional salad. Their offerings were limited and they carry products that contain artificial ingredients, sucralose, high fructose corn syrup, etc (Earth Fare doesn't sell HFCS, artificial preservatices, cottonseed oil, etc). Their selection of items was very limited too. It is definitely not a place to do all your natural/organic foods but a decent place to get a few things.

yeah
not too many people understand that Trader Joe's has a lot of junk! They have some good things but their fish is all from overseas and processed...definitely not fresh!
We have tons of them back in PA and I definitely prefer Earthfare to Trader Joe's.
Thanks for posting Goove!

Whole Foods finally completed their acquisition of Wild Oats. Earth Fare is now the second largest (by number of stores) natural foods store in the US.
