Hello,

What can you tell me about Mount Island lake and Mt Isle Harbor?
Is it a nice area?
How far away is it from the ocean?
Is the lake nice?
Is the surrounding area nice?
Is there lots of shopping near by?
Is it a safe area?

Thanks!

I like this lake over lake norman which is within 10 minutes from this lake.

I go to Moutain Island Lake due to they have kayak and canoe access for right now it mostly wooded lake and isnt over developed as lake norman nor has the amount of boat traffic. Latta Plantation borders the lake with numerous of hiking trails.

Mt harbour is near Mt holly a small town but close enough to enjoy the amenities of charlotte.

The highway that is near highway 16 is being converted to a limited access highway and will make getting into charlotte alot easier. You also will be within 10 minutes of Huntersville (ample shopping) and 10 minutes to North Lake Mall.

It is smaller than Lake Norman and there is several Duke Power power facilities on this lake

I would also be interested in housing and school information about Mount Island. Do people commute from Charlotte Uptown to Mt Island? Is it a nice area? Subdivisions? Plane noise?

I used to live very close to Mountain Island Lake...
Yes, people commute to Uptown to work. Yes, there is some plane noise. But the area is just ready to boom! A new leg of the I-485 Beltway just opened to Hwy. 16, so if the shopping you want isn't in the area yet, it'll be there soon. The newest shopping mall in Charlotte opened at exit 18 off I-77 (used to be three miles door-to-door from my home... sniff, pout... I miss that.) There are several nice, family oriented neighborhoods just off Mt. Holly-Huntersville Rd. Schools have been at or over capacity.

Roma, Depending on the beach area you want to go to, it can still be 3 1/2 or more hours to the beach.
