I would not personally live along Tyvola (east or west).

In my previous post I suggested a complex further down S. Tryon that would be a better area for a family.

I was a resident at one time. I was robbed at gunpoint there. I wasn't the only person to be robbed in the complex. Management has changed a couple times that I am aware of. I would stay far away from there and anything north of I-485, west of Southpark, and south of I-85 (that area between those points).

Welcome to Charlotte Jay. Just a suggestion...ask the folks at your new job about areas where Indians may be living close to one another. There are probably other indians at your job, especially if it's with Belk/IBM or another big company.

In truth, Indians live all over Charlotte, so even if you don't live in the same complex as others you won't be far from new friends I'm sure

Good luck in your search!

Anyone who's been in Charlotte for any length of time knows hwy 51 in Pineville is always a rats nest of congestion. And the Carmel/Johnston Rd area is thick with too many apt complexes and duplexes which is one reason it is so congested.
I'm not talking about Hwy 51. I'm talking about Johnston Rd from Hwy 51 till out around Providence Road West. Traffic does indeed become gridlocked on that road during the morning & evening rush hours which is why most people try to avoid it during those times. Where do you think all the traffic is going on 485? In some sort of perpetual circle?
