So I was driving home from work and my speedometer read 60mph while going through a 55mph zone, but I was pulled for going 70mph and received a ticket. This is my first ticket and I'm already in massive debt from college and I'm look for suggestions of what I should do. I did have a tire that was 2 sizes too big on my rear drivers side because someone had slashed my tire 3 days ago and I think that is why my speedometer was off

If you go to court WITH CERTIFIED PROOF FROM A LEGITIMATE REPAIR SHOP that your speedometer is not working correctly and plead your case most likely the ticket will be dropped or reduced. Also your prior driving record will be considered. hope this helps

Here's the issue with that though. My insurance just got me a new tire that is the same size as the others

Having one tire the wrong size should not mess up the speedometer but if it could and you had a new tire but not on the car you have no case. Go to court and plead not guilty and say you were only speeding maybe 5 or 6 over and they may reduce it and save you an extra point on your license. One point is better than 3. If you have prior speeding tickets on your record forget what I just said and just pay the friggin ticket and be glad you were not going a little faster which would cause you to have your license taken for 30 days.

find a good traffic attorney and get improper equipment, however this stays on your record now, but no points
