It seems that the locations that I've seen on the southeast side of town are either closed or in their 'everything must go' sale.

Are any locations in town staying open after this purge?

There are a few left in the south side of town. Just ask the Blockbuster closest to you and they will tell you all of the local ones still open.

On the upside, we bought a bunch of good movies for a very nice price from them. I don't know what the selection that is left will look like by now but different strokes for different folks right?

I loved their sign here "STORE CLOSING THIS LOCATION ONLY". I see they managed that as well as they managed the business before bankruptcy.

There is still the location in Fort Mill on 160 and Pleasant/Sutton. It seems like it is still running fine.

Actually, I think they had a copy of "Diff'rent Strokes" on the discount pile.

One of the online news sources today said that the Matthews and Indian Trail locations on 74 will stay open, as well as the Ballantyne location next to Harris Teeter.

We've been very happy the past year using a combination of Netflix and Redbox.

I saw a sign on the Matthews location annoucing their new low prices. Too little too late if you ask me. They had some good prices a few years ago and then jacked them up so I went to Netflix.

I know of two that are open, one is in Ballentyne on Ballantyne Commons/Johnston Rd intersection by the Harris Teeter, and one on South Tryon and Steele Creek, but why go there, you can go to a Blockbuster DVD Box (like redbox) and only pay $1.
