Does the city frown upon {or fine} a homeowner who has oil leak spots on the street in front of their house?

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I would think the city would frown upon excessive oil leakage. You could always try Swat-A-Litterbug. Couldn't hurt.

Mecklenburg County Water Quality Program will respond to complaints about this issue.

It is illegal to discharge oil to the street, even as a leak. But it happens all the time, all over the city...

If it were my neighbor, I'd call it in. It's unsightly at best...

The homeowner does not own the street parking in front of his home and anyone may park there. How would the homeowner be held liable for property he has no control over? If illegal, it's unenforceable.

doesn't matter whose property it is. A stormwater ordinance exists that prohibits discharging anything except storm water to the street. and it's totally enforceable. I've enforced that very ordinance myself.

Section 18-80, subsection a:

I think that there is a fine line.......you can't force someone to repair their vehicle.
You haven't mentioned that parking on the street is illegal in your neighborhood.
At best, the city may issue a warning(s)?
