We are zoned for JM Robinson but my daughter (TD) is very unhappy at her current elementary school and with the supposedly successful (not) catalyst classroom.

She wants to attend a TD magnet. We had decided against Barringer previously because of the area it was in. But now I think Randolph is our "zoned TD magnet middle school.

Have kids in either? Does JM Robinson have a better TD catalyst class? Randolph Middle, is it a good school?

If she can test into it, you can enroll her in the horizons program at Randolph:
Home
I know people who loved it there and were allowed to progress much further than grade level.
The rest of the school I am not sure would be much better than JM Robinson, but the fact stated on their website that 32 nationalities are represented at the school is impressive. With the IB in the rest of the school, you would have priority for IB in high school, but I don't think it's hard to get in the East Meck IB anyway which would be for your zone.

She already is certified and cleared to go next year to Randolph. I hear that JM is a great school too but wondering if their honor classes will be enough of a challenge. Plus she will be with friends and then into Audrey Kell. From Randolph, it would be either Berry or whatever else. I am not a fan of EastMeck right now but who knows in a few years how it goes.

It is hard to make the right choice since it backfired on us now in elementary. It was/is horrible for her in 4th and 5th grade when it was supposed to be an excellent school. The principal did away with the all TD/High Flyers class and just integrated all the kids together. They have my daughter tutoring instead of learning.
