Recently while driving on the interstates I have noticed a lot of Texas plates in the area. Is this just me or are you guys seeing this as well? I still see the usual NY, NJ, VA, MD, etc plates...but I have never seen so many Texas plates before at one timel in the area. Are they rental cars or something? Just something I have noticed more recently.

I'm seeing some Texas plates when I drive around the city, but more than anything I see lots of Pennsylvania and Ohio plates.

A friend recently rented a car, and it had a Texas plate. Only one example, but I thought I'd throw it out there! Not sure how rentals work, if they get "shipments" of cars from other places...

Hopefully this will mean we can get some places with some good brisket.

When I was involved with construction, some of the contractors came from Texas, along with many of their employees. On a job site it was common to see a dozen vehicles with TX plates. A house up the street from me is being rented by several guys, and there are often 3 or more pickups with TX plates in the driveway.

It is common indeed to have out-of-state vehicles on job sites. The laborers who are using them are likely assumed to be working and staying here legally, noting the reference to Texas license plates and the state is on the Mexican border.

Maybe they will bring some extra manners with them. You know, for the ones who left theirs behind in the move.

*Waves hand*

Texas plate holder here, also, and no, I'm not a border jumper.

The Carolinas are very construction heavy right now for power work. A lot of people I know building these power plants (myself included) are from or were based out of Texas. A lot of people on the corporate level have moved here as well, as a number of these companies are consolidating offices and making Charlotte their main branch.
