On Saturday, April 9th, 2011 at 1:00 PM the CMPD Blue Hornets will host the Chicago (PD) Finest at Knights Stadium located in Fort Mill, SC.

This is the first year CMPD is participating in baseball with this being the first series played. The first game will be Friday at Jack Hughes Park at 7:00 PM.

However, this is the big game because the Knights are letting CMPD use their field. The Knights then open up their season a few hours after this game.

Some notes:
- Tickets are $3. All proceeds benefit Ace and TJ Grin Kids
- There is a strict time limit due to the Knights needing the field, so the game will not drag on.

Taxpayer notes:
- All of the players are doing this on their own time. Supervisor approval is needed to change up hours a little bit. Once again, this will be on the time of the players, not the city.
- Any injury is considered off duty and will not be covered by city insurance
- Uniforms and equipment are being funded privately through sponsorships and donations

HMMmmmm....I haven't heard about this yet. This is actually the 3rd game of our opening homestand. I wonder if we'll get called to come in earlier that day for this event.

Hey Cubbies, I work for the food service company there not the Knights themselves. I'm just wondering if they're going to open the concessions for this event.

Maybe the OP can clarify about the tickets. I don't think they are something the Knights themselves will be selling. Maybe the group organizing the event will be selling at the gate.

Sounds like it will be a quick game considering the Knights game has a 7:15 pm start & the gates open at 5:30pm & they usually start getting the field ready ready by then.

Tickets would be available at the gate ($3). The tickets were donated to CMPD by the Knights and they are official looking tickets that even have the CMPD baseball logo on them.

Game is scheduled for 7 innings

No idea about the concession stand

NDAlum...They're going to have 1 concession stand opened for the game. I'll be there supervising. My DH, retired NYPD will be working at a beer portable. Look for me & say Hi. I'll be the only blue shirt with a name tag that says Rosann on it. I hope they get a good turn out for it!! ENJOY the game!
