Charlotte City-Data meet up?
Seems like we have a bunch of new people in the Charlotte area trying to find people to meet up with. And we probably have a bunch of people on the forum who might be interested in seeing who they've been interacting with as well So how about starting up a Charlotte City-Data meetup group? You can feel free to attend as many or as few events as you'd like... no commitment required! But it might be a good way for some people to make some new friends in the area, or for some to get out and do something different once in a while. Maybe we can shoot for a once a month plan and increase/decrease the frequency based on participation and interest level.
Here are some ideas I'm thinking of in the near future:
1) bowling
2) bar/dinner
3) Carowinds trip
4) Knights game
We can pick a different area around Charlotte to meet up each time in order to be fair to everybody since we're probably scattered around the city.
If anybody's interested, feel free to post back to this thread or PM me. If it seems like there's a decent level of interest, I'll start another post with the details of the first planned event.
Thanks!

I'm not in NC as yet, still researching my way....but that sounds like a great idea....I know over on the TN forum their having a get-together picnic.
Plus it would give people a chance to met some of the wonderful people who post on this site, moving from another state is always hard, and I'm sorta shy
not aggressive in meeting people, but, if I were in NC for one of these events I would go, can't do no harm.
I hope that others will respond to you........its a great way to meet other newcomers and maybe get some more useful information about the area.
Good Luck

I've actually mentioned this a couple of times in some of my threads but no one ever seems to bite. Starting a thread on just this topic is a good idea and yes, I would be interested in attending/helping plan events.

Get together
I'm totally interested, but won't be actually in Charlotte full time until November.
My next trip to visit will be Aug. 26-29th - if anything comes up for something during those dates, let me know!

I would be up for this too, but we're not moving for a few months yet. (Sounds like a lot of people...)
