I heard one buzzing around this weekend but didn't actually see it. I put up the feeder the weekend before so I am hoping they will make our house a permanent stop.

March-ish is usually when they begin their migration.

How often do you clean/replace the nectar in the feeders?

I'd like to put up a Hummingbird feeder but my wife is concerned that it will attract wasps, etc. Has anyone had a problem with that? We have a small deck at our apartment so we'd be in fairly close proximity of the feeder. Thanks!

You get the occasional bee but I have had many more problems with ants then bees. Once they find it, you need to bring it inside for a few days (and clean the heck out of it) until the ants find another food source.

I spotted the hummingbird I had heard buzzing around this weekend and the feeder last night. Solo for now but hoping their two nemesis' show up soon as well. Watching territorial hummingbird chase each other is always a great time!

Every week or so or it will start to ferment (especially when in the summer). If you keep it in the shade, it will slow the fermentation.

If you go too long and don't change your feeder and the birds get a really fermented batch, it will be a while before they come back.

The best recipie is right here and cost very little. https://www.dominosugar.com/family-f...-nectar-recipe
