We're going to be visiting Charlotte next week so that I can check the place out and see if it's a place I would like to live. DH needs to be there for work, so kids and I are tagging along for this purpose. I'm going to drive around and try to get a sense of the towns and neighborhoods (and traffic). Much gas will be burned!

I would like to hit some open houses on the weekend, and am wondering about the best way to locate these. Our local paper has a real estate section on Saturdays that lists all the upcoming open houses--is it the same there, or are they in the paper a different day? What about online open house listings? I've found you can search for open houses on the Allen Tate website, but I'm guessing that just includes THEIR listings, not all the ones that are being held!

Thanks for any help you can offer!

I can pull them from a database that I have access to a as a realtor, I would be happy to share that information with you. It is much easier to email it for me, wht area(s) are you most interested in? And are schools important?? I will guide you if you can answer those quick questions

You mention that your DH needs to be here for work...might I suggest that you state the area where your husband will be working (general area) than I know there will be alot of very helpful folks on this site that can help you narrow down your search (and hopefully not only save you money on gas but time as well).

Best of luck with your seach!!

.....I just noticed on your previous posts that your DH will be working in Uptown.

Allen Tate is a great source for open house information -- I would also check the Charlotte Observer Saturday newspaper for listings for open houses. I personally wouldn't hold a house open unless it was advertised in the newspaper as well...
