Supposed to close on my house Thursday, now the lender is saying that they may require a minor plumbing leak (which has caused drywall damage) to be repaired before we can close. I absolutely must close by Friday. If it comes down to this, can anyone please recommend a trustworthy plumber and contractor (who can drywall a ceiling) who would be available on short notice and not rip me off as far as charges??

Thank you,
Jacob

We had a similar problem on a house we were selling. Our realtor took care of everything, from hiring her trusted repair man to waiting at the house while he worked and the buyers checked the repairs. What is your realtor saying about the situtation?

May???? Are you the seller or buyer? This is something that the seller should take care of. If you are the buyer. Lenders have been funny with this last minute stuff. I have done a million of those inspection stuff. I have always wondered how it is aways last minute. They do the inspections are done before going to lender. and they make a report. This should have been noted way before closing. Should be a few hundred.

I am the buyer. First thing I forgot to mention is that this is a short sale, so I'm buying the house "as-is". Second is that the original appraiser went MIA after performing the appraisal, so the lender hasn't been able to get advice on whether or not I should be forced to repair these issues before closing.
