I will definitely try Chinese food. I've been walking like a fool for the past week with no luck. Had REALLY spicy Mexican last night to no avail. My doctor specifically told me not to take castor oil, so I think I will steer clear of that one.

I'll let you know if Mama Riccotta's eggplant parm works tonight!

ECMO8, I'm glad your doctor told you not to try the castor oil. I tried it, was sick as a dog and my daughter still wouldn't budge!!! Now, 21 years later, that same daughter still does things at her own speed, lol. What an exciting time for you. Best wishes!

Of course, everything listed here are all old wives' tales...

Why don't you ask your doctor to set a date to induce?

Any other local urban legends for inducing labor? (I'm past my due date, can you tell? LOL)

You poor thing!! I hope labor starts soon, and congrats on the new little one

Oh, and I actually HAVE heard this rumor about Mama Riccotta's eggplant, lol. Maybe you should head over there asap!

Forty years ago.....I had pizza and chocolate ice cream late at night, and woke up with a real stomach ache....or so I thought!! Hours later the ache was gone...and in its place was an 8 pound 13 ounce beautiful baby boy!! )) Hey, you never know until you try it!!

I'm not the OP, but I didn't want either of mine induced because having a natural birth was important to me. One intervention often leads to more & more.

My wife ate a homewrecker burrito from Moe's for dinner. 4 hours later, she went into labor.

Daughter#1 arrived after a wonderful meal @ Villa Antonio.
Daughter#2 arrived after a tex-mex feast @ Señor Tequila.

Each time driving home my wife said "We're going to have a baby tonight".
She just knew.
