Hi All,
I'm looking into Condo/townhome near uptown and found some near Airport on Tuckseegee Road (near exit 34) in Northampton community.
How is this area? we don't have kids, so not much worried about school disctrict, I work in uptown so this is close to office. I want to know how is this area? Is it safe and livable? If I end up moving out of town, how is rental in this area?
Let me put it this way...my siblings and cousins and I are actively working to move an older relative OUT of that very area. She loves it (nice neighbors next door and up above, sits outside and watches kids, close to store and expressways) but...
She's been broken into 2 times
-Her car has been broken into
-The place seems to be falling apart because, allegedly, so many people are defaulting on HOAs
-There are now section 8 rentals (not that they are bad tenants as one is her neighbor...just saying it will impact property value)
Not a place to choose if you have other options, in my opinion. If you DO go there, be sure you know who your immediate neighbors will be (renters, owners, section 8, short term buyers, etc.). You could certainly buy for cheap.
She had a good run there for YEARS, but it is not going so well the last 2+ years! The change has come..
Thank you all for your replies. I'm looking for Townhome or Condo around uptown (about 10-15 mile radius). One location I have in my list is university area (46 exit on I85) (specifically Hyde Park on Mallard Creek Church road Not on mallard creek road)
Any suggestions in Tyvola or south park area? I do not want to buy a very old house tough, anywhere with in 5 year old is fine.
Mallard Creek Church/ Prosperity Church is a good area. I own a townhome on Mallard Creek between Harris and Mallar Creek Church in a community called Rossmore, very nice little neighborhood.
I am planning on moving to the Rossmore community on mallard creek road. Can somebody let me know how safe is this community and what is the mix of crowd in the neighborhood ?
