No I know her-- not meant as it sounded. Plenty of great neighborhoods through out Charlotte! If you are from NYC, your eyes will tell you you when you are in an area that doens't make you comfortable.

Charlotte was rated #1 for African Americans by BET, did you know that? And thankfully it is the New South. Atlanta may be the capitalof the New South, but Charlotte is the heart of the New South. All are welcome.

I am a 41 year old, african american women, thinking about moving to Charlotte. I currently live in Oklahoma City, which is one of the worst cities to live in if you are african american, in my opinion. My question is I how much would a one bedroom apartment cost in a good neighborhood and what is the crime rate?

You could get a nice one bedroom apartment in a good area starting at $600 and up.

Yes, overall Charlotte is close to being an ideal place to live. I could go on and on about why we love it so much. What makes it even better is the vibes you get from people that you come in contact with. Being from the northeast, it was a pleasant and welcome surprise.

This, more than any other aspect of our Charlotte experience has caused us to grow fond of the city.

ShkenSpirit, I am so very sorry for the loss of your son! Best of luck starting fresh in Charlotte.

Here's the thing about living in Charlotte - you want to try to live on the side of town you will be working on, otherwise your life can become very stressful because of traffic and congestion issues. Any ideas yet where that might be?
