I have seen posts for middle and elementary schools, but not High Schools. My fiancee will be working south of Charlotte, near Lake Wylie. I am looking for a good public high school in either Charlotte or in South Carolina (Fort Mill/Rock Hill areas). I am also wanting any comparisons of south Charlotte to Fort Mill/Rock Hill. I suppose I'm looking for the impossible - great diversity without much crime....I don't want to live in a boring "hick" area, but don't want to be inundated by crime either. I have looked at Ardrey Kell, South Meck, and a few in S.C. Any comments would be helpful. Thank you!

p.s. moving from Wichita, KS, but originally from San Francisco.

With a job in Lake Wylie I'd suggest living there for sure, or in nearby Fort Mill.

There are two high schools in Fort Mill, both with very high academic rankings and fine reputations.

You won't find a ton of "diversity" in south Charlotte, though it is a very desirable area to live in, as is Lake Wylie and Fort Mill actually.

South Meck may work for you if you want diversity. There is plenty of housing in that area that has low crime and if you look at Pineville --prices can be lower.

South Meck will be adding students when they close another for the Language School and the diversity will increase a bit. But Ardrey Kell probably isn't very diverse.
