Oh FSU, always pulling in the talent, getting that high preseason rank based on it and perpetually underachieving. Same way this year.

And FYI, FSU absolutely has not been ranked in the top 25 in the AP final rankings since 2002, but you should have already known that.

You knew this was coming.
2011 - pre-Bowl #25
2010 - final #17
2008 - final #21
2005 - final #22
2004 - final #14
2003 - final #11
2002 - final #21

Credibility is out the door. Maybe you watch college football to learn this before making such crazy claims. Thanks for playing.

What did we learn... FSU has been AP Top 25 8 of the last 11 years. If I go back further that number goes way up since we dominated from 1987 to 2001. In case you weren't aware, AP Top 5 for all those years.

Now back to your regularly Newton/Panthers talk...

Oh I'm very aware of those rankings and you said you'd been ranked in the top 25 since 2002. You were wrong. Again.

You'll notice there are YEARS missing. You can't say you are a yearly top 25 team in one post and then say, "well, I mean we've been top 25 sometimes in the past 10 years, not every year but what I said is still accurate.". Well, actually, given what else you've said in this thread this is probably as close to right as you'll be. haha

My guess is he doesn't end the season as the starter. Guaranteed.

Surrounding him with players? He has options. He has two very offensive TEs in Jeremy Shockey and Greg Olsen. Steve Smith is still one of the top wide receivers in the league. No excuses.

As for Sanchez... He had Edwards (overrated) and then played with the rotesserie of players; Cotchery (played through an injury), Holmes (terrible receiver), and Keller (a blocking TE).

Let's take Bradford. He has Bowe and then no one. He made names of guys like Mark Clayton, who did nothing until that season, prior to injury. The rest I couldn't even name. In other words, a receiving corp way worse than what Cam has to work with.
Another classic post. Are you still standing by this "guarantee"? I mean you still got another game or two so technically you could still be right!

Like shooting fish in a barrel here.

I'm just pointing out the guys that were behind Cam in the draft and how they are performing. A good way to judge the player is by comparing other guys in his situation.

Lastly...
For comparison sakes... Clausen vs Newton 3 games into preseason
Clausen 58.6% + TD in the air
Newton 40.3%
If Clausen is bad, Newton is that much worse.
Another ncopus99 GUARANTEE!! I love these!!! Are you still sticking by this one too?!!?

Liked your Clausen to Newton comparison at the end there for dramatic effect too. LOL

Your answer to the question of who looks like the best QB in this class. LOL

Top 25 will not cut it for the FSU, Miami's, Ohio States, Bamas, etc. Not having finished in the top 10 is a medicore season for Free Shoes U...almost 10 years. Similar to the situation with Paterno at Penn State, FSU held on to B Bowden too long...that recruiting trail is tough post 65 years old...and look what happen under Paterno's watch. It's difficult to follow a legend and tough to force out. Dean Smith timed it about right and why it only took a couple of years for UNC BBall to recover.

If Jimbo is the man, anything less than AP top 5 finish in 2012 is unacceptable (considering the recruting classes).
