I know we've this type of thread a million times before but here's my question:
We are hiring ABF to move us from California to Charlotte. We have to pack and load and then they drive it.
We have no problem on this end getting help; it's the other that is a problem since we don't know a soul.
Where or how do I look for just "movers"; people who are professional enough to care about our furniture and the walls, etc. during unloading?
Thanks for the help

Contreras

We used U-Pack when we moved down from NY. Same thing had plenty of help there, but not here. We hired a moving company who unloaded our trailer. There was about 19-20 feet of the trailer and I thought the price was a little high as the company went by the hour. I have heard some good things about Easy Movers and Act of Class movers. They do full service but im sure that they would just do an unload. Hope this helps.

Hi Contreras!! I hope your KB home is coming along great, we close in a month. Anyways, you can go to Make your move on eMove: eMove Moving Help and look for movers in that website. You can research different companies and look for the most convenient company. Word of advice, if you ask for three movers, call them and ask them if these are grown men. Once I asked for three movers and an adult showed up with two teenagers....not what I expected. The move took longer and since they charge by the hour, it costed me more. Good luck!

HGONZ001 - thanks so much for posting the moving help link. This was the kind of information that I was looking for. For me, I will have issues with loading it from Chicago and unloading it in Charlotte. Did you use the relo cubes or the 28 feet trailer. I know the trailer would pack up everything, but I may have issues with my association if that big ole trailer is parked in front of my house. I may be able to have both the trailer and movers come all at the same time if the stars work with me. But I just have to have the trailer come back later in the day. Again, thanks for posting such great information.

You're very welcome. I have never used the relo cubes. I usually get a quote from All American Movers and what they do is that move all my things to the truck, drive it themselves to the destination, and then they unload it again. It is a better deal than having to rent an Uhual truck, then driving it and in top of that, hiring someone else to load and unload it. Try them, they have an awesome service and among the cheapest within the moving industry.
