I did a thread search, didn't come up with anything usable. Wondering if anyone in the south Charlotte, Ballantyne area, has a roofer-slash-gutter-guy they've worked with recently and would recommend, and who will call back to get the work.

Three recommendations from pals have resulted in... nothing. No one calls back. Which is weird, since I'm offering people money to help me by fixing some overflowing gutters.

When I get good service, I'm loyal, so I'd like to make the connection with a good roofer.

Please let me know if you have one!

Thanks!

MC

Is it the gutters or the roof? You may just need a gutter guy or a handyman.

Well, I guess it's gutters. I don't need new gutters or gutter guards, I just have two places where the confluence of guttering causes overflows, and water splashes down onto the house siding and into the mulch and makes a mess of things.

I tried to make makeshift spill-stoppers, but it looks like Sanford & Son did it. Recent big rains (like, um, just now), make me worry about the siding & foundation and crawl space being wetter than it should be. So I'd like to find someone who can deal with gutters this way, and I figured a roofer would be a good bet. (Where's the roofer who did our roof and guaranteed it? They must be very busy.)

If you've had this experience (with gutters) and know how to solve it, or have someone you trust to solve it, I'd be happy to meet them.

Thanks again!

Cool need gutter help, not a lecture

Please do not hijack my thread with a pointless immigration thing, ok? (I saw this happen on some of the other threads pertaining to roofers. Sorry you had a bad experience.)

Thanks!

Thumbs up gutter success

Here's an update.

No less than 7 roofers -- including the roofer who put my roof on, guaranteed it, and then disappeared -- didn't call back. I have half a mind to name them and warn you away from them, but whatever.

(Huge thanks anyway to people who PM'd me and gave me their recommended roofers. I followed up, but maybe this job was just too small for them. I'm sure they are excellent roofers. I plan to keep everyone's contact info and maybe use them in the future.)

On my way home from actually going to the last-known-address of my MIA original roofer, I passed a crew doing work in a nearby neighborhood, and, in desperation, I stopped to speak with the foreman. (His name was Tom. He was very friendly and helpful. The company was StormChief -- 704-778-2278. I have seen them working in nearby neighborhoods, and their roofs always look nice.) Tom gave me the name of his go-to gutter people, and I called CIGO Seamless Gutters.

The next afternoon -- on the verge of more rain! -- Terry and Carlos of CIGO were nice enough to stop by and take a look at my overflowing gutter problem. They returned the next day and bingo-bango, Carlos built a whole new larger catch-cup at the overflowing confluence, reconnected it, and constructed a tall splash guard around it to ensure that all the water that crashes down at this juncture will be directed into the box. Caulked it up, spray painted it all to match the existing gutters, and FINI!

Friendly, expert, fast, clean. What more could you ask for? When it comes time to replace all the gutters on my house, I would definitely call them.

CIGO Seamless Gutters: 404-452-2590

Success!
