Charlotte is still a growing city. However, it is centrally located about 3 hours from mountains and beach. There is always something going on, whether sports, concerts, festivals, theatre, etc. The city is very accessible from surrounding areas and consist of 2 major interstates: I77 and I85. Banking and healthcare are big here as well as motorsports. Think NASCAR, race shops. There are also nearby lakes: Lake Wylie (SC side) and Lake Norman (NC side). Shopping is nice in the South Park area and uptown. There is also North Lake Mall, Carolina Place, and Concord Mills. The NC Film incentives are a hot topic since more independent films and some National shows, such as Banshee and Homeland have been filmed in the Charlotte area. There is also Carowinds amusement park and the white water center for entertainment. Nightlife at the Epicenter uptown is a happening area too.
Homes are affordable and a lot of people live in the suburbs as well. Ballantyne is a nice neighborhood that consists of homes, condos, townhouses, and apartments.
