Sounds like rhetoric that would come out of a small town in Mississippi, not a major city of almost 750,000 residents. This is beyond typical anti-gay rhetoric from Republicans...its hate speech. No wonder Charlotte has the stereotype as a bastion of extreme conservatism and homophobia. How is this guy able to get away with stuff like this? If it happened up north, he would be pressured into resigning.

Newsflash bro... but this isn't the case. Charlotte is a liberal/democrat majority city now....
